I don't like museum cafes in general. They are usually put in worst place available, and only suitable for a quick pitstop during your long walk of magnificent halls full of art. So you don't want to waste time sitting there, as soon as your feet are good enough to continue walking. But not this one... Situated right above the entrance, with a magnificent balcony reached by two great stairs, looking at Bode Museums magnificent dome this cafe is highlight of the museum. You don't need a ticket to be there so even if you are not interested in museum you can go there for an afternoon tea or coffee. Just got lost in the grandeur of architecture and stillness of time. Service is slow (they should hire some more people), but coffee and cakes are really good too.

The tables outside the cafe are like gold dust, and it's no surprise why! It's a fabulous setting, and the cake & coffee were high quality too.

Really cool place to thet a hot coffe in the mornig. They have bunches that are really good. The price is okey for the locationg. There are a lot of people most of the time but still you won`t wait at all. They are working really fast. The staff is amazing and really friendly.

This place has only one competitor - the cafe at central train station in Antwerpen. You are like in a palace + not so crowded + you can reach the cafe without entrance fee paying. Good place for romantic date!

I didn't eat there but took a coffee twice and I'm absolutely seduced by the surroundings. I love this building, its architecture and sculptures and its atmosphere. I think it's a really nice spot for an afternoon tea or to enjoy a short break when exploring the city. I'd also say that it's a good excuse to enter in the Bode-Museum for people who wants to see more than just the facade without necessarily visiting the whole museum. Plus: a library is located in the coffee and their book selection is interesting for history and art lovers! Useful info: you can enter the coffee without entrance fee!
